Vans Taps American Tattoo Legend BJ Betts For “Made For The Makers” Capsule

Now that more inclement weather is fast approaching, Vans has launched its newest batch of re-worked classics under the “Made for the Makers” line. For its latest, however, the California-institution is forgoing the all-black ensembles of previous pairs for a military-inspired trio co-created by BJ Betts.

For his first-ever collaboration with the “OFF THE WALL” brand, Betts has drawn not only from his 20+ years in the tattoo industry, which he’s helped define via a series of guides on lettering, but also his family. Spill and slip-resistant iterations of the Old Skool, Slip-On, and Authentic don original camouflage patterns in either muted green, blue, or sand inspired by Betts’ grandfather.

“My Grandfathe[r],” said Betts,”was one of the best men that ever walked this earth. [T]his whole project is dedicated to [him and his military service].”

Furthermore, UltraCush sockliners deliver all-day comfort for the “makers” who work on their feet and need something rugged enough to seamlessly transition from job to play.
